Olivia Pichardo - Baseball, Brown University

Here is our TOP perFORMer of November 2022

The baseball season doesn’t start until February, but there’s no shortage of hype for the 18-year-old walk-on at Brown University (Providence, R.I.). Olivia Pichardo, a Queens, N.Y. native, will take the field in historic fashion as the first female athlete to make the roster of an NCAA Division I varsity baseball team.

In a Brown University media release, Pichardo spoke about the moment her dream became a reality. “It was definitely a surreal moment for me because it’s something that I’ve wanted since eighth grade,” Pichardo said. “It’s kind of crazy to know that I’m living out my dream right now and my ideal college experience that I’ve always wanted, so that’s really cool.”

The exhausting practice schedule and week-long tryout process were no match for the USA Baseball Women’s National Team member who has been playing ball since kindergarten. The devotion Pichardo exhibits for the game she loves will move the needle for an entire generation of peope fighting to improve gender equity in baseball and other sports.

Top Form Psychology acknowledges this important step in the lives of many athletes and will be rooting for our TOP perFORMer Olivia Pichardo as she continues paving the way!
